They grow around 15cm in length and they do vary differently in size depend on tank and feeding, big tanks with proper filtration is required.

Temperature: Cold water preferable, few species can withstand Tropical temperature.

All types of fish food.

Peaceful.

Special Care:
Pond setup is preferable with good filtration. Other wise frequent partial water change is required, since they eat a lot and produce lots of waste. Avoid fin nippers. And Particularly Molly fish, since they enjoy feeding the mucus like secretion on gold fishes and eventually lead them to die. So again word of caution not molly in goldfish tank. Platys are okay.

Sexing
Very difficult better to get a group and leave them to pair on their own.

Breeding :
Gold fish are egg layers.
